When it comes to photography, I love color, moments and a good story. Please check out my blogs to see recent work.
Maria and Nathan’s nuptials was one of those classically perfect weddings filled to the brim with love for the happy couple.
Lucky for me, I had met Nathan at Penn State in a photography class and I never could have imagined that I would have photographed his wedding how many years later. So you’ll know when you go to a Penn Stater’s wedding because they will make sure they incorporate it in some way. Nathan chose to have custom button down shirts with Penn State logo sleeves for himself and his groomsmen who attended Penn State (underneath his military uniform of course).
Maria has to be one of the sweetest human beings on the planet! Both of these people are gems and I am so thrilled they found each other. Not only is she sweet, but she is practical. Her wedding shoes were the cutest pink Toms and quite frankly, I’m glad there is someone else who prefers flats to heels other than myself. She was able to achieve different wedding looks utilizing a two-piece wedding dress. For the ceremony she stunned in an off the shoulder, lace bodice over a gorgeous ruffled wedding gown and during the reception, the lace bodice detached, revealing a strapless bodice. Obviously, this seems like a great tactic to enhance your range of motion for the hours of dancing to come at your reception.
Speaking of sensible, this venue pretty much had everything they needed. They had the hair, makeup, caterer, bakery and florist all on site, so it certainly seemed convenient to plan all their details out! The Inn at Leola Village is located in Lancaster, so let’s just say they know their way around the kitchen.
The ceremony location was exquisite with incredible ambiance! The two wed in front of a stone fireplace, which was adorned with red roses. In the center, stood a wooden cross that Nathan had made himself. These two have so much love and respect for one another and it was so evident in every interaction and look they had together on their wedding day.
At the reception, some of their closest friends had the chance to toast the happy couple and let’s just say I was happy that my camera has an autofocus function for those times that I may tear up a little. Of course the party ended with a lot of really incredible dancing!
Congratulations Maria and Nathan, and thank you for letting me be a part of your day!
