I personally find engagement sessions really helpful, but mostly to help prepare the photographer AND the couple for their wedding day. I learned a lot about this couple in the few hours I had with them and I am sure they learned a lot about me too. Not to mention, they are now pros at being in front of the camera and they got to see which poses they liked! Dan surprised me with all of his awesome ideas and I know he will be wedding day ready. Liz is a trooper and I am so glad we went ahead with this session despite the gloomy forecast. Fun fact: some streets in Philly are closed in the early morning, and they make for great photo opportunities! Fun fact #2: Philly in the fog is pretty cool.

It’s rare that couples get to take portraits in the same location they will be getting married and having their family portraits taken, but that is exactly what we did! You can never have enough practice. We now know almost every side of the Philadelphia Art Museum and will take advantage of our intel come their wedding day.
