Melissa and Stephen had a beautiful summer wedding in Havre de Grace, Maryland, with a special appearance made by their excitable and adorable husky Ellie.
Melissa rocked an elegant tee-length dress with her twin sister, Michelle, right by her side. Stephen cleaned up quite nicely too, sporting a navy suit. After getting all spiffied up at the Vandiver Inn , we headed to the Church of St. Patrick for the I Do’s. Both Melissa and Stephen have some musically talented friends/ siblings who participated in the ceremony by playing piano, singing and playing flute. Even more friends and family were involved with readings and offerings.
After some photos, we headed back to the Vandiver Inn to kick the party off. There may have been some tears running down my own cheek with all the amazing toasts given by friends and family. Giving a speech for a friend or family member at a wedding is quite emotional, and it isn’t unusual for the person toasting to cry or become emotional. Stephen’s mom knew she would fall victim to the emotions of reading a poem to her son on his wedding day, so she had her daughter read it on her behalf. This well prepared and beautifully written poem was strategically spoken right before their mother/son dance, creating a pretty powerful moment.
DJ Boomer got almost every guest out of their seats and dancing on the dance floor. This group danced up until the last song and then headed out to their after party for the celebrations to continue.
